Air defense systems have successfully shot down two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Belgorod region. This information was reported by the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, on his Telegram channel.
“In the Belgorod region, two UAVs of aircraft type were shot down by the air defense system in the area of the villages of Belomestnoye and Boldyrevo. Operational services are clarifying information about the consequences on the ground,” the statement said.
According to the governor, there have been no casualties or damage among the civilian population.
On the night of March 8, air defense systems destroyed 11 UAVs over the Volgograd region and one over the Belgorod region.
On March 7, it was reported that two UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reached the Leningrad region due to their low flight altitude. They could not be shot down due to the dense forest they flew over. Later, they were destroyed by Russian fighters. On the same day, another UAV was shot down in the sky over the Belgorod region.
Previously, air defense forces shot down a UAV of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Bryansk region.
