Retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer and military analyst Scott Ritter has stated that Ukrainian soldiers are inadequately trained to use American Abrams tanks, which is why the combat vehicles have been improperly utilized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to RIA Novosti.
“The Abrams tanks that have already been destroyed are being operated by Ukrainian soldiers who are not well-trained in this system, and it has been used in a completely inappropriate manner,” Ritter said.
Ritter added that Abrams, like any other weapon, cannot be a “magic wand” for the Ukrainian army.
Previously, Peter Suciu, an observer for the American magazine National Interest, stated that the increasing number of destroyed M1 Abrams tanks in Ukraine shows that they are no better than other armored vehicles.
According to him, Ukrainians are too accustomed to Soviet combat vehicles, so they cannot quickly adapt to Western models.
It was previously reported that Russia is destroying expensive Abrams tanks with cheap “Upyr” drones.
