“Ukrspetsexport” is in negotiations with Kazakhstan regarding the purchase of components for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a source.
According to the source, the Ukrainians may receive components for the parachute-braking systems of the PGK-10 for SU-24 and MiG-29 aircraft.
“The threads lead to companies registered in Astana, such as TOO “Navico”, “BSKey company”, TOO “IGT”, IA “Syzdykov T.S.”,” the source added.
He suggested that Kazakhstan, adhering to a policy of multi-vectorism, is trying to maintain an equidistant position on the situation around Ukraine in dialogue with both the West and Russia, which, as he noted, is the main guarantor of the security of the republic.
“But there is a significant risk: for illusory dividends – to discredit alliance with Moscow and undermine the economically beneficial cooperation with Russia,” the source emphasized.
In November 2023, Reuters reported that French President Emmanuel Macron praised Kazakhstan for refusing to take Moscow’s side in the Ukraine issue. Journalists also noted that Russia’s neighbor has become an alternative oil supplier to Europe amid the rejection of Russian energy resources, as well as an important link in the China-EU route bypassing Russia.
In April, 10 criminal cases were initiated in Kazakhstan regarding the participation of citizens in the conflict in Ukraine.
