Russia may conduct military operations in Ukraine with the current intensity for at least two more years, according to a report by Lithuanian intelligence services, as reported by Reuters.
The report states that Russia has sufficient resources, including high oil prices, evasion of sanctions, and state investments, which enable it to sustain its military activities. This assessment was made by the Counterintelligence Department of the State Security Department and the Military Intelligence and Security Service under the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania.
Russia has reformed and strengthened its military in 2023 and is on the path to expanding its military potential along the NATO border, including near Finland, according to the intelligence services.
The report emphasizes that Moscow is capable of learning from past experiences and improving its combat effectiveness.
On March 6, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the enhancement of counter-battery capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces.
Earlier, a former US intelligence officer stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to stop Russia’s offensive.
