Russian Muslim military personnel participating in a special military operation (SVO) are allowed to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. This was announced by the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of the country, Mufti Albir Krganov, according to TASS.
“We pray for the return to health of the servicemen. Military personnel, considering where they are located, are allowed to skip fasting, as this will not violate Sharia law,” he noted.
According to Krganov, such a deviation from Islamic norms will not be a violation of religious rules by the military. At the same time, the mufti assured that believers are entering the month of Ramadan this year with a positive attitude.
“There is hope for good, including the fulfillment of the goals set out in the recent address of the head of state [to the Federal Assembly], and for the establishment of order on the outskirts of the country,” Krganov concluded.
As early as October 2022, the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, called on residents of the North Caucasus republics to actively participate in the SVO. He also referred to the military actions in Ukraine as a “war between Christians and Muslims against Satanism.”
Earlier, it became known that a field mosque is being built for Russian military personnel in the Krasnolimansk direction.
