The Russian anti-drone rifle “Vyzhigatel” effectively suppresses unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the newspaper “Izvestia” with reference to the press service of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya).
According to journalists, a gathering of Rosgvardiya personnel recently took place at one of the training grounds in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). The event was attended by specialists who work with advanced UAV detection and suppression systems.
“This complex (‘Vyzhigatel’) is very mobile, it can intercept the signal by which the enemy controls the drone, and then forcibly land it,” said the head of the training camp, codenamed “Docent.”
He added that “Vyzhigatel” allows completely depriving the drone operator of control over the aircraft. At the same time, the person who controls the UAV cannot interfere with this process.
The article specifies that as part of the gathering, Rosgvardiya personnel received theoretical knowledge about the mentioned rifle and practiced skills in detecting drones. Moreover, the fighters trained to determine the type of drones and their direction of movement.
Earlier, tests of the upgraded anti-drone complex “Serpy” were completed in Russia.
