Russian General Warns of Potential Large-Scale War in Europe Due to Escalation of Conflict in Ukraine

As tensions escalate in Ukraine, the possibility of military conflict and a large-scale war in Europe cannot be ruled out. These concerns were outlined in a conceptual article by General-Colonel Vladimir Zarudnitsky, the head of the General Staff Academy of the Russian Armed Forces, as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to General-Colonel Zarudnitsky, the impending resolution of the conflict in Ukraine will not end the confrontation between Russia and the West. This is due to the fact that the ongoing process of transforming the existing world order is accompanied by an increase in contradictions, the resolution of which “almost always leads to the use of military force.”

The potential outcomes of the conflict can vary, from the involvement of proxy forces from Western countries in combat clashes to a full-fledged war in Europe.

In Zarudnitsky’s opinion, the United States and its Western allies are attempting to maintain their hegemony by any means necessary, aiming to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia and destabilize the situation within its territory.

The General-Colonel believes that this poses a direct threat to the existence of the Russian Federation and necessitates the immediate implementation of measures to ensure the country’s military security.

On March 6, it was announced that Sweden will officially become a member of NATO.

On the same day, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Russia has no plans to attack anyone, while the Kremlin revealed the reasons for Russia’s potential use of nuclear weapons.

Earlier, the establishment of a Crimean military administration by Kiev was dismissed as a psychosis in Crimea.
