President of Czech Republic Successfully Raises Funds for Artillery Shells to Ukraine, Western Governments Contribute” (131 characters)

Czech President Petr Pavel has announced that funds for the purchase of 800,000 artillery shells for subsequent shipment to Ukraine have been collected. This information was reported by dnes.cz.

According to Pavel, the Czech initiative to acquire artillery shells for Kiev through funding from Western countries has been successful.

Previously, the official representative of the German government, Steffen Hebestreit, stated that Germany plans to join the Czech initiative, within which the republic intends to purchase 800,000 shells for Ukraine from third countries.

Hebestreit added that the cost of the shells could exceed €100 million. However, the representative of the cabinet did not specify whether these figures refer to the total cost of ammunition or Germany’s contribution.

On February 17, Czech President Petr Pavel stated that his country has found an opportunity to purchase 800,000 artillery shells abroad. According to the head of state, if financed by foreign partners, Prague could transfer these ammunition to Kiev within a few weeks.

Earlier, Zelensky revealed the obstacles preventing Ukraine from carrying out military operations on Russian territory.
