Kazakhstan Denies Negotiations with “Ukrspetsexport” for the Purchase of Russian Military Products for the Needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense has stated that it is not engaged in negotiations with “Ukrspetsexport” regarding the procurement of Russian military products for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Ministry emphasized that the information circulating in the media and social networks about such negotiations “does not correspond to reality.” The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reminded that since 2022, the country has imposed a ban on the export of weapons and military equipment.
“These insinuations are aimed at discrediting the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, we ask citizens and the media not to react to the rumors being spread and to trust only official sources of information,” the Ministry added.
Earlier, a source from RIA Novosti reported that Kazakhstan may transfer components for parachute-braking systems PGK-10 for Su-24 and MiG-29 aircraft to “Ukrspetsexport.” According to the source, the “threads lead” to companies registered in Astana, such as TOO “Navico,” “BSKey company,” TOO “IGT,” and IA “Syzdykov T.S.”
A similar situation occurred in February 2023 when the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan denied rumors about the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine. Videos appeared on social media showing the transportation of armored personnel carriers and trucks by rail. As TASS reminds us, the authors claimed that the footage was taken in Almaty, and the equipment, funded by Western foundations, was being sent to Ukraine.
In April, the Defense Ministry refuted reports of the delivery of Russian military equipment.
Earlier, Ukraine and Kazakhstan conducted a joint police operation.
