German Foreign Minister Calls for More Weapons and Defense Systems for Ukraine in Pursuit of Peace

States that want to achieve peace in Ukraine should provide it with more long-range weapons and air defense systems (ADS). This statement was made by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, according to TASS.

On Thursday, March 7, the head of the German Foreign Ministry held a joint press conference with her British counterpart, David Cameron. The event took place in Berlin.

“Those who want to achieve peace <...> must mobilize all means for Ukraine,” the minister said.

She clarified that this measure involves the supply of a larger quantity of ammunition and long-range weapons to the combat zone. The same applies to ADS, which Ukraine needs to ensure its survival.

Prior to this, the German Ministry of Defense announced the expansion of the international coalition to provide Ukraine with ADS and missile defense systems. The ministry reported that Norway has joined the relevant work. Initially, the coalition, led by Berlin and Paris, included 15 states.

Earlier, the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommended that citizens of the country not visit Russia.
