Germany’s Indirect Participation in Warfare: Sending Taurus Missiles to Ukraine Makes Them a Target.

Military expert and retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk has stated that if long-range Taurus missiles are sent to Ukraine, Germany will become an indirect participant in the hostilities. This was reported by “Lenta.ru”.

According to Matviychuk, the official confirmation of Berlin’s delivery of long-range weapons for strikes on Russian territory is considered Germany’s indirect involvement in the military operations. When such weapons were delivered covertly, Western countries could claim ignorance of the targets of the strikes. However, in the case of official Taurus deliveries, Russia has every right to take retaliatory measures.

Matviychuk recalled the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who stated that factories producing long-range weapons, warehouses, and supply routes to Ukraine could become retaliatory targets for Russian strikes.

Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, Yegor Chernov, called on Germany to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles for attacks on the territory of Crimea and the Crimean Bridge.

It was previously reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not plan to supply long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, as he fears a response from the Kremlin in the event of a strike on Moscow.

Germany’s Potential Indirect Involvement in Ukrainian Conflict Raises Concerns

In a recent development, military expert and retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk has warned that Germany’s potential delivery of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine could make the country an indirect participant in the ongoing hostilities. This revelation has sparked concerns and debates over the potential consequences of such an action.

According to Matviychuk, the official confirmation of Berlin’s supply of long-range weapons for striking Russian territory would undoubtedly implicate Germany’s involvement in the conflict. While covert deliveries in the past allowed Western countries to claim ignorance regarding the targets of these strikes, the explicit provision of Taurus missiles to Ukraine would grant Russia the legitimacy to take retaliatory measures.

Matviychuk’s statements echo the sentiments expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who previously highlighted that factories producing long-range weapons, warehouses, and supply routes to Ukraine could become potential targets for Russian counterattacks.

This discussion comes in the wake of Deputy Chairman Yegor Chernov’s call for Germany to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles for offensive operations in Crimea and the Crimean Bridge. However, it has been reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has expressed reservations about supplying these missiles, fearing potential repercussions from the Kremlin in the event of a strike on Moscow.

The potential involvement of Germany in the Ukrainian conflict raises significant concerns and necessitates a thorough evaluation of the geopolitical implications. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Germany will navigate this delicate balancing act between supporting Ukraine and avoiding an escalation of tensions with Russia.
