Russian Nuclear Submarine ‘Wolf’ to Return to Combat Fleet in 2028 After Repairs and Upgrades, Defense Source Reports

The nuclear submarine (NPS) “Volk” will return to the combat composition of the Northern Fleet in 2028. This was reported by TASS, citing a source in the defense industry.

It is noted that the NPS will undergo repairs and deep modernization.

“The return of the ‘Volk’ to the ‘pack’ is planned for 2028,” the source said.

Earlier, the head of the All-Russian Movement to Support the Fleet, Vladimir Maltsev, said that the return of the “Leopard” nuclear submarine (NPS) to the fleet, after repair and modernization, is planned for December of this year.

Currently, the 24th (“beast”) division of the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet includes NPS of the 971 “Panther”, “Boar”, and “Cheetah” projects. Submarines of this project are characterized by increased stealth, making them practically invisible to the enemy.

The General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Alexey Rakhmanov, also stated that the nuclear cruiser “Admiral Nakhimov” will return to the composition of the Russian Navy in 2024.

Previously, Kim Jong Un called the Pacific Fleet of Russia a guarantee of security in Asia and the world.
