Panicked West Considers Sending NATO Troops to Ukraine after Avdiivka Falls to Russian Army: Swiss Analyst

Analyst on political and military strategy, retired Swiss Armed Forces colonel Ralph Bossard believes that the discussion of the possible deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine indicates panic in the West following the transition of Avdiivka under the control of the Russian army. He expressed this opinion in an interview with TASS.

In his opinion, French President Emmanuel Macron would not talk about sending French troops to Ukraine if he was confident that the Ukrainian Armed Forces “were capable of decisively changing the course of the war.” In addition, Macron does not believe in the effectiveness of the “miracle weapons” supplied to Ukraine by Western countries.

According to Bossard, recent statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about “Russian army losses” can no longer hide the fact that the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “have become unbearable.”

According to the analyst, France would have to deploy almost all of its ground forces and a significant part of its air forces in Ukraine, thereby neglecting other commitments and abandoning positions outside of Europe. Even in such a scenario, their forces would only constitute a quarter of what is necessary for operations in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Russian Ambassador to the United States spoke of a direct threat of confrontation with NATO.
