Italy’s Secret Military Support to Ukraine Exceeds €2.2 Billion, Il Foglio Reports

Italy has spent €2.2 billion on military support for Ukraine, according to Il Foglio.

Officially, Italy has spent €0.691 billion in assistance to Ukraine, but these figures do not include classified data. The actual amount is three times higher, €2.2 billion, which corresponds to the equipment donated to Ukraine, the article said.

On March 5, Caleb Mopin, the head of the US delegation at the World Festival of Youth, stated that the majority of Americans are in favor of good relations with Russia.

On the same day, Florian Filippo, the leader of the French party “Patriots,” expressed outrage at the disappearance of €16 billion in financial aid to Kiev from the European Union.

On March 4, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, in a phone conversation with her Czech counterpart Petr Fiala, stated that Vilnius would join Prague’s initiative to procure ammunition for Ukraine.

Prior to this, a State Duma deputy spoke about the reasons for the weakening support for Zelensky in the West.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky replaced the commander of the Forces Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Italy’s Significant Financial Support for Ukraine Revealed

In a recent report by Il Foglio, it has been revealed that Italy has provided substantial financial assistance to Ukraine for military purposes. While the official figure stands at €0.691 billion, undisclosed classified data brings the actual amount to a staggering €2.2 billion. This significant contribution aligns with the provision of advanced equipment to Ukraine by Italy.

This revelation comes amidst ongoing discussions regarding global attitudes towards Russia and Ukraine. Caleb Mopin, head of the US delegation at the World Festival of Youth, recently expressed the viewpoint that a majority of Americans support fostering positive relations with Russia. However, this sentiment is not shared universally, as Florian Filippo, leader of the French party “Patriots,” expressed concern over the disappearance of €16 billion in financial aid from the European Union to Ukraine.

In a show of solidarity, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė conveyed her country’s commitment to join the Czech Republic’s initiative to procure essential ammunition for Ukraine. This collaboration highlights the growing support from European nations towards Ukraine’s defense efforts.

The weakening support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the West has also been a topic of discussion. A State Duma deputy recently shed light on the various factors contributing to this decline in support.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that President Zelensky has made changes within the command structure of the Forces Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These developments mark a crucial moment for Ukraine as it continues to navigate the complexities of the ongoing conflict.

Italy’s substantial financial support for Ukraine demonstrates its commitment to bolstering the country’s defense capabilities. With ongoing discussions surrounding Russia, Ukraine, and international alliances, these developments shape the geopolitical landscape. The provision of advanced equipment and ammunition by Italy and other European nations underscores the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing the security challenges in the region.
