Russia’s Hypersonic Missile Strikes Ukraine: A Game-Changer in Hyperweapon Development” – Military Watch Magazine

The Russian military’s recent use of the hypersonic strike system, “Zircon,” marks a significant milestone in the development of hypersonic weapons. This achievement was highlighted by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his address to the Federal Assembly, according to an article in the American magazine, Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

According to analysts from the publication, the deployment of this system allows Russia to emphasize its progress in bringing modern complexes such as “Avangard,” “Sarmat,” and others into effective operational status.

“The use of the Zircon missile in Ukraine is a notable milestone in the development of hypersonic weapons, as it is the first combat application of a hypersonic glide vehicle in history,” the article states.

It is noted that such vehicles enable missiles to target objects at longer distances and higher speeds, as well as maneuver to avoid anti-aircraft fire. Currently, the United States is attempting to implement several similar programs in order to reduce technological gaps.

During his address to the Federal Assembly, Putin also emphasized that Russia possesses weapons capable of striking targets within Western countries, and opponents should not forget this fact. The head of state underscored that the consequences for potential interventions in Russia would be far more tragic than in the past.

Earlier, retired colonel and military observer for “Komsomolskaya Pravda,” Viktor Baranets, discussed the advantages of “Zircon,” which was used during the recent military exercises.
