An Air-Ground or Air-Sea operation against Russia could begin with a rapid global strike and simultaneous multiple missile and aviation strikes. This forecast is being reported by the military department, citing an article in the “Military Thought” journal published by the Ministry.
The authors of the article believe that foreign specialists are studying the possibility of creating a new type of military formation called “Joint Operational Formations” (JOF). It will include inter-service compact, mobile, and multi-domain troop groupings that will be capable of delivering a comprehensive blow to the enemy’s administrative-political and military-industrial infrastructure in all spheres.
The publication states that the active phase of the JOF operation will be preceded by provocative potentially aggressive actions.
“Thus, these factors expand the system of threats to the Russian Federation from a military point of view, which create new requirements for the level of Russia’s security, in which the Aerospace Forces (AF) play a key role,” the article says.
In connection with this, the authors call for an increase in the role of the AF in the overall structure of military conflicts, equipping this branch of troops with new and modernized types of weapons.
On March 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Su-35S fighters are preventing the Ukrainian Air Force from taking off from airfields.
