Washington DC police are on the hunt for three brazen thieves who swiped a staggering $36,000 worth of merchandise from a Moncler store, located on Palmer Alley NW. Shocking surveillance footage released by the Metropolitan Police Department shows the audacious robbery, and authorities are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the culprits.
The incident occurred on January 18, 2024, at around 2:15 p.m. The footage reveals three individuals entering the Moncler store, all of whom took precautions to conceal their identities by wearing masks. The first suspect, a female with long hair, was seen sporting a Nike hat, skinny jeans, boots, and a white and yellowish-orange-sleeved jacket. The second suspect donned a gray Nike pullover sweatshirt and dark pants, while the third suspect wore a black Nike jacket, black jeans, and black boots.
The video shows the suspect in the orange-sleeved jacket bizarrely toying with a fire extinguisher, as if contemplating its use. Meanwhile, the second suspect swiftly grabs several jackets from the rack. The suspect in the yellowish-sleeved jacket heads toward the front door, holding the fire extinguisher, and opens it, allowing the second suspect to escape with the stolen merchandise. The third suspect is also caught on camera grabbing jackets and hiding them under his armpits and draping them over his arm.
In a moment of haste, the third suspect drops one of the jackets on his way out but quickly retrieves it before fleeing the scene. The three thieves then make their getaway in a gray Toyota Rav 4.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to the arrest and indictment of the individuals responsible for this audacious crime.
