Ukrainian Authorities Worried About Frontline Situation, No Backup Plan if US Doesn’t Provide New Military Aid Package

Ukrainian authorities are concerned about the situation on the front line and they have no backup plan if the US does not provide new military assistance. This was reported by German journalist Gregor Schwung to Die Welt.

“On Ukraine, they know they are in a very difficult position on the front line. The goal is to hold the defensive line because Russia is exerting pressure along the entire front line – both in the north and in the south,” Schwung said.

On February 17, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin about the capture of Avdiivka. During the clearing operations, Russian military personnel discovered trophy Western weapons in the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The commander of the assault group of the Russian Armed Forces, codenamed “Merkel,” stated that the Ukrainian troops did not want to leave Avdiivka and had “excellent shelters” in this settlement.

It later became known that Avdiivka received the first applications from local residents to obtain Russian citizenship. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.

Earlier, one of the reasons for the defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka was named.
