Houthi Rebels Launch Devastating Attacks on Commercial Ships and American Destroyer, Alarming International Community

Rebels from the Houthi movement “Ansar Allah” have carried out attacks on the commercial ship Islander in the Gulf of Aden and an American destroyer in the Red Sea. This was reported by the Al Masirah channel.

“The Yemeni naval forces conducted an operation against the British ship Islander in the Gulf of Aden using several anti-ship missiles,” the report said.

It is noted that the American destroyer was attacked by several drones.

Prior to this, the British Royal Navy announced that a fire broke out on board the attacked ship off the coast of Yemen. According to the report, the incident occurred 70 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Aden, as reported earlier. According to UKMTO, two missiles were fired at the ship, resulting in a fire on board.

On February 20, the Houthis from the Yemeni rebel movement “Ansar Allah” struck the Israeli ship MSC SILVER in the Gulf of Aden.

Earlier, The Guardian newspaper reported that the Houthis claimed one of their most powerful attacks after two of their projectiles hit a cargo ship flying the flag of Belize.

Previously, the Houthis announced their intention to attack commercial ships in the Red Sea every 12 hours.
