A voluntary army of civilians has emerged in Estonia, training on weekends and preparing for a hypothetical invasion by Russia. This was reported by the publication Sky News.
The publication clarifies that these are not military personnel, but middle-aged civilians. They use camouflage paint on their faces and train with weapons. Speaking to representatives of the British media, they called on people to “get off the couch” and prepare to fight “due to the growing threat from Russia”.
Shortly before this, there was a report that the Estonian border service website issued a warning that the country may soon close border crossings with Russia due to “migration pressure”. Later, this information was denied.
Prior to this, 10 alleged agents of Russian special services were detained in Estonia. This was reported by the former prime minister of this Baltic country, Kaja Kallas, in a social media post.
Earlier in Estonia, there was a suggestion to store jam and potatoes in bunkers on the border with Russia.
