Poll Reveals Growing Concerns Over President Biden’s Age and Physical Health, Trump Gains Ground in 2024 Rematch

In a recent poll conducted by Quinnipiac University, it has been revealed that former President Donald Trump is gaining ground in a hypothetical general election rematch against President Biden. The poll shows that Biden currently leads Trump by four points, with 49% support from likely voters compared to 45% for the former president. However, this lead has narrowed since a previous poll in January, where Biden had a six-point lead over Trump.

Interestingly, the poll also highlights concerns over President Biden’s physical health, with a large majority of voters (67%) believing that he is too old and not physically capable of completing another four-year term. In contrast, only 57% of voters think Trump is too old to serve another term.

Moreover, the survey reveals that nearly twice as many voters believe Trump to be more physically fit than Biden. This raises questions about Biden’s ability to handle the demands of the presidency, especially as concerns have been raised over his memory and cognitive abilities.

The results of the poll reflect a growing sense of unease among Democrats about President Biden’s age and physical fitness. As the frontrunner in the Republican presidential primary, Trump continues to secure support from 80% of Republican-identifying respondents. Only 17% of respondents preferred former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley as the GOP nominee.

It is worth noting that the poll results come in the wake of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s handling of classified documents, where he described the president as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” This further adds to concerns about Biden’s suitability for the presidency.

Overall, the poll paints a challenging picture for President Biden and the Democratic Party. While Biden may still have a slight lead over Trump, there are growing concerns about his age, physical health, and ability to effectively govern. These concerns, coupled with Trump’s strong support within the Republican Party, suggest that the 2024 race for the White House could be a highly contested one.
