Iran has reportedly transferred around 400 ballistic missiles to Russia, according to sources from the Iranian government. This information was shared with the Reuters news agency by six Iranian officials.
“One of the reasons we’re not hiding this is because we are allowed to export weapons to any country we wish,” said one of the officials.
Several other Iranian officials have stated that the Islamic Republic has supplied Russia with approximately 400 short-range missiles from the Fateh-110 family. It is also possible that the deliveries include hundreds of Zulfikar missiles, capable of hitting targets within a range of 300 to 700 kilometers.
So far, four batches of missiles have been delivered to Russia, with more expected in the near future.
It was previously reported that the European Union may impose sanctions on North Korea for alleged military supplies from Russia.
In 2017, the United Nations Security Council passed resolutions prohibiting North Korean citizens from working abroad and imposing a ban on the import of North Korean coal, iron, lead, and seafood. Additionally, member states of the United Nations are prohibited from exporting oil and petroleum products to North Korea.
Earlier, Iran conducted a test launch of a long-range ballistic missile.
