Polish Defense Minister Calls for Immediate Military Threat Preparation, Urges Economic Mobilization

Warsaw should focus on preparing for a direct military threat while implementing its defense policy. This statement was made by the Polish Minister of Defense, Vladislav Koshinyak-Kamyshe, as quoted by the wp.pl portal.

“We need to reorient ourselves towards, I would say, a state of immediate threat, that is, accelerating production and expanding production capabilities,” he emphasized, responding to journalists’ questions about the need to shift the country’s economy to a “war footing.”

Koshinyak-Kamyshe added that the country’s military-industrial capabilities are currently not fully operational. In general, all European states, except Norway, continue to exist “in peacetime conditions.” However, according to the minister, the countries in the region need to at least partially mobilize their economies.

“I believe that this is a very important question – to awaken the industry and shift it into a mode of direct threat, rather than peace and tranquility,” said the head of the relevant department.

According to him, Europe should “switch” to the production of ammunition and components for various types of weapons. Koshinyak-Kamyshe clarified that the Russian economy has already shifted to a “war footing.”

Previously, Vladimir Putin explained under what circumstances Russia could deploy its troops in Poland.
