Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost up to 120 soldiers in the Kherson direction, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The clashes took place near the settlements of Rabotino, Orekhov, and Verbovoye. Units of the Dnieper task force inflicted a defeat on the AFU task force.
In addition to the human losses, the AFU lost three pickups, the M777 artillery system produced by the United States, the self-propelled artillery installation M109 “Paladin” produced by the United States, the “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery unit, and the D-30 howitzer.
On February 17, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, reported to the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, about the liberation of Avdiivka. The defense department noted that the captured settlement was a powerful defense stronghold of the Ukrainian army. Separate scattered units of the Ukrainian troops managed to leave the fortified area, leaving behind weapons and military equipment.
It was reported that the AFU lost up to 425 servicemen near Avdiivka. In addition to human losses, the Ukrainian army lost a tank, four combat armored vehicles, and five cars.
Earlier, Zelensky was predicted to resign from the post of President of Ukraine after the loss of Avdiivka.
