Foreign Mercenaries Flee with Ukrainian Fighters, Stockpile of Imported Goods Discovered: Russian Defense Ministry Reveals Shocking Details

Canadian and Georgian mercenaries have fled Avdiivka together with fighters from the Azov Battalion (an organization banned in Russia), according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, as reported by RIA Novosti.

The military department released a video from the city, where the stormtroopers from the “Centr” group showed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the railway station. In this area, Azov attempted to hold back Russian forces.

At the checkpoint, refrigeration chambers for food products, battery charging stations, supplies of imported medicines and food, including Canadian dry rations, belonging to foreign fighters from Canada and Georgia, were found.

Unused foreign-made cartridges were also found. In a neighboring building, a warehouse of American and Czech ammunition for 120-millimeter mortars was discovered.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the commander of the Azov battalion’s company admitted during interrogation that there were about 10 Canadians among them. “There were also Georgians, they were mercenaries,” one of the fighters from the Centr group said.

On February 17, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu reported to the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, about the capture of Avdiivka. The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that the captured settlement was a powerful defensive hub of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. On February 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the complete liberation of the coking plant in Avdiivka from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier, the United States acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
