Trump Gains Massive Endorsements from GOP Lawmakers, Solidifying Support for 2024 Presidential Bid

In a recent interview on “Live,” MAGA Inc. spokesperson Karoline Leavitt and Never Back Down communications director Erin Perrine discussed how endorsements will benefit the respective campaigns of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump. Trump has already secured wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada during the first contests of the 2024 presidential nomination calendar.

“We want to thank the great people of Iowa,” Trump said in a caucus victory speech in Des Moines. With 51% of the ballots and the majority of the votes on caucus night, Trump’s support among GOP lawmakers continues to grow as he prepares to run against both his Republican and Democrat opponents, including President Joe Biden and GOP hopeful Nikki Haley.

Several prominent politicians have already endorsed Trump as the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, a former GOP presidential candidate himself, highlighted the need for a president who sees Americans as one united family. “That’s why I came to the very warm state of New Hampshire to endorse the next president of these United States, President Donald Trump,” Scott said.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, after suspending his own presidential campaign, expressed his belief that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. “While I’ve had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of [Dr.] Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent, Joe Biden. That is clear,” DeSantis stated. He also emphasized that he signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and will honor that commitment.

Senator Deb Fischer of Nebraska called for Republicans to unite behind Trump and prevent Joe Biden from winning a second term. “These last three years have yielded a crippling border crisis, an inflationary economy that prices the American Dream out of reach for families, and a world in constant turmoil with our enemies on the march,” Fischer said in her endorsement statement.

Senator John Cornyn of Texas stressed the need for Republicans to unite around a single candidate to defeat Biden. Cornyn criticized Biden’s domestic and foreign policies, including the border crisis and record-high inflation. “Four more years of failed domestic policies like the Biden Border Crisis and failed foreign policies that have emboldened our adversaries must be stopped,” Cornyn said.

Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina expressed her endorsement of Donald Trump over Nikki Haley, stating that it had been a “complete s— show” since Biden took office and that the country needs to reverse the damage caused by his administration.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana emphasized Trump’s proven track record of saving the country and getting it back on track. Scalise said, “I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, and I look forward to working with President Trump and a Republican House and Senate to fight for those families who are struggling under the weight of Biden’s failed policies.”

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas also endorsed Trump, stating, “I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president of the United States. I look forward to supporting him enthusiastically.”

Other notable endorsements include Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota, Senator Katie Britt of Alabama, House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik of New York, and National Republican Congressional Committee Chair Richard Hudson of North Carolina.

With the support of 24 senators, over 116 House members, and nine governors, Trump’s campaign is gaining momentum. However, he has been barred from the Colorado ballot, and the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the challenge to that ruling on February 8. Despite this setback, 27 states are standing in support of Trump in the ballot fight.

As the 2024 campaign trail unfolds, these endorsements will undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping the Republican Party’s future and the upcoming presidential election.
