Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are destroying Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare equipment. This was reported by military expert and retired Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin to “Lenta.ru”.
“Diversions and terrorism are currently the focus of the UAF. Drones of various types are used for this purpose,” the expert noted.
He pointed out that Ukraine obtains ready-made drones from abroad. In addition, they also assemble them domestically using imported components. According to the military analyst, attempts to attack Russian territory with drones will continue, which is why the Russian army is enhancing its electronic warfare and air defense capabilities. Dandykin emphasized that shot-down drones lose their course and crash.
It was recently announced that the West will equip the UAF with drones equipped with artificial intelligence.
Earlier in Russia, a new system for countering drones was developed.
[Additional context: The conflict in Ukraine has been ongoing since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea and supported separatist movements in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has been fighting against these separatist forces, which are backed by Russia. The use of drones has become increasingly common in the conflict, with both sides utilizing them for reconnaissance and offensive purposes.]
