Russia’s Defense Ministry Prepares Lists of Heroes in the Liberation of Avdiivka, Ukraine

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov announced that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is preparing lists of pilots and fighters who took part in the liberation of Avdiivka. This was reported by TASS.

“At the moment, the Ministry of Defense is preparing personal lists for the awarding of fighters who took part in the operation to capture Avdiivka. Our operation heroes will definitely be awarded,” Peskov said.

Earlier, the Russian Minister of Defense, Army General Sergei Shoigu, reported to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, that Russian forces had completely taken control of the settlement of Avdiivka near Donetsk.

The department noted that the captured settlement was a “powerful defensive hub” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the agency’s data, the losses of the Ukrainian side amounted to more than 1,500 servicemen in the past 24 hours. However, certain scattered units were able to hastily leave Avdiivka, leaving behind weapons and military equipment.

Earlier, Ukraine called the withdrawal of troops from Avdiivka a challenging task.
