Russian troops advanced 8.6 kilometers during the liberation of Avdiivka from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) on February 17, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry stated that the total area taken by the “Center” group of forces reached 31.75 square kilometers. As a result of the fighting, the UAF lost around 1,500 servicemen.
On February 17, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported the liberation of Avdiivka to the country’s president, Vladimir Putin.
