Ukrainian Foreign Minister Caught Smoking Cigar on Live Broadcast as Armed Forces Withdraw from Avdiivka

Head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Kuleba, lit a cigarette during a live broadcast of a Ukrainian telethon against the backdrop of the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from Avdiivka. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Strana”.

It is noted that Kuleba answered a question about future meetings of the Kiev delegation, after which he lit a cigarette, thinking that there were technical difficulties during the broadcast. The diplomat was then disconnected from the broadcast.

On the morning of February 17, the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, announced that the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be withdrawn from Avdiivka due to the imminent encirclement of the garrison of this fortified city.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov explained the retreat of the AFU from Avdiivka due to a lack of weapons.

It was reported that the leadership of the third assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was sent to Avdiivka with the aim of holding the city, called the withdrawal from the city a difficult task.

Prior to this, it became known that the flag of the Russian Federation appeared over the administration building in Avdiivka.

Earlier, Business Insider compared the actions of the AFU to Germany’s strategy in World War II.
