The Russian military expert, retired Colonel Andrey Koshkin, has revealed that the software-hardware complex “Prometheus” is successfully tackling the most challenging task of saving the lives of Russian soldiers. This complex enables heavy military equipment to operate independently, without the direct presence of soldiers.
According to Koshkin, this complex is highly promising and is intended for the automation of infantry combat vehicles. He emphasized the importance of having a large number of remotely controlled weapon systems in high-risk combat zones. By doing so, robots assist in accomplishing combat missions while ensuring the safety of military personnel.
In the event of a firefight, vehicles equipped with the “Prometheus” system could provide cover for the soldiers. Even if the vehicle is hit, it can still complete its task, ensuring the survival of human operators, as summarized by the expert.
On February 6th, it was announced that the testing of the “Prometheus” complex for the robotization of infantry fighting vehicles had commenced.
Previously, it was reported that Russia is developing a new aircraft based on the Yak-152.
