Teenage Girl Hospitalized After Falling from Ski Lift at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort

A terrifying incident unfolded at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort in California when a 16-year-old girl fell several feet from a ski lift while snowboarding. The harrowing incident, which was captured on video, occurred on the morning of January 27. In the video, the teenage girl can be seen dangling from the chair lift, with other lift riders unable to pull her back up onto the seat.

Ski lift employees rushed to the scene to assist in the rescue, using a net to help cushion her fall. Despite their efforts, the girl slipped from the grasp of her chair mates and fell into the rescue crew below. She was immediately transported to Mammoth Hospital for evaluation, and an update on her condition is currently unavailable.

Mammoth Mountain, California’s highest ski resort, is known for its average snowfall of 400 inches per season and a base elevation of nearly 8,000 feet. This incident comes just days after another snowboarding incident where a person was trapped overnight in a ski gondola at a Lake Tahoe resort.

The safety of ski resort guests is a top priority, and Mammoth Mountain has not yet provided further information about the incident. As the investigation continues, thoughts are with the injured girl and her family.

In recent years, ski resorts across the country have implemented various safety measures to prevent such accidents. However, incidents like these serve as a reminder of the risks associated with winter sports and the importance of following safety guidelines when enjoying outdoor activities.

While Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort remains a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts, this incident highlights the need for continued vigilance and precautions to ensure the well-being of visitors.
