Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin and NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg have discussed the ramping up of defense production to assist Ukraine. This information was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the American Defense Department.
Austin and Stoltenberg discussed the current support for Kiev and emphasized the importance of alliance unity on this issue.
“Each noted the importance of rapidly increasing defense production to continue supporting Ukraine, replenishing their own supplies of ammunition and weapons,” the statement said.
Previously, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Washington, stated that the US administration sees the consequences of ceasing arms deliveries to the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Commenting on the prospects of potential refusal by the legislative branch in the United States to further provide significant military and financial assistance to Kiev, he emphasized that if Washington fails to fulfill its obligations, it will become more difficult for Europe and others to continue doing what they have been doing.
Earlier, the US and Ukraine began negotiations on security guarantees for Kiev.
