A series of explosions have rocked several regions in Ukraine, according to reports from Ukrainian media outlets. The incidents occurred in the Kiev, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv oblasts, causing widespread panic and concern.
In particular, a series of explosions were reported in the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kiev oblast. The regional military administration notified the public through a Telegram channel at approximately 1:36 am, stating that the region’s air defense system was activated in response to the explosions.
Similar explosions also took place in the Sumy oblast. Tatiana Timofeeva, the first deputy mayor of Zmiiv in the Kharkiv oblast, reported an explosion in the city, with reports indicating that a fire broke out at one of the explosion sites.
Several explosions were also heard in Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
As a result of these incidents, air raid sirens were activated in central and eastern regions of Ukraine.
This latest wave of explosions follows a series of attacks by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian infrastructure since October 10, 2022. The attacks, which began just two days after a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, allegedly orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence agencies according to Russian authorities, have targeted energy facilities, defense industries, military command centers, and communication networks across the country. As a result, air raid sirens have been sounding daily in various regions of Ukraine, and at times, throughout the entire country.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed the challenges faced by Ukraine in extending the conflict onto Russian territory. The situation remains tense as Ukraine grapples with the ongoing attacks and seeks to defend its sovereignty amid escalating tensions with Russia.
