Fire Breaks Out at Slavneft-YANOS Oil Refinery in Yaroslavl After Drone Attack

A small fire broke out at the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl after a drone attack, according to a report by the Telegram channel Shot.

The fire, caused by the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), was extinguished by the refinery workers themselves, with the wreckage of the drone scattered across the refinery’s premises.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Emergency services and a bomb disposal team are currently at the scene. It is believed that the drone was carrying explosives, as stated by Shot.

Earlier, the Telegram channel “112” reported the drone crash on the refinery’s premises near the hydrocracking unit.

The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously announced that on the morning of January 29, air defense systems had destroyed a Ukrainian drone over the Bryansk region.

On January 27, the village of Antonovka in the Belgorod region came under attack by Ukrainian drones.

Russia has recently developed a new drone suppression system.
