Ukrainian Air Defense Systems Fail to Intercept Russian X-22 Hypersonic Missiles

Ukrainian air defense systems, provided by Western allies, have proven ineffective in intercepting Russian X-22 hypersonic missiles, according to a report by the American YouTube channel Military TV.

The report states that Ukrainian air defense forces are genuinely concerned about the X-22 missiles.

Despite receiving extensive defense assistance in the form of surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs) such as SAMP-T, Patriot, IRIS-T, NASAMS, and Crotale, these systems are unable to counter the threat posed by the X-22 missiles.

The channel reveals that the advanced X-22 missile travels at a very high speed of 4.6 Mach and has the capability to strike from unexpected trajectories, posing a significant challenge to Ukrainian air defense.

In November, The Economist reported that Russia has been utilizing effective electronic warfare measures in the area of their special operations, successfully diverting even NATO missiles off course.

Earlier, the advantages of the Su-57 with its new missile were assessed in the United States.
