The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the main battle tanks T-80BVM operating in the special operation zone have been equipped with radio electronic complexes called “Wavecutter”, which can suppress drone control signals within a radius of up to 600 meters. This information was reported by TASS.
According to a soldier with the call sign “Kazak”, FPV drones often fly from both our side and the enemy’s side, and the “Wavecutters” help us in dealing with them. He further mentioned that due to the increased activity of enemy drones, Russian military personnel often move away from their positions at high speeds after firing.
Previously, it was reported that the new Russian air defense systems will be equipped with lasers to neutralize the optics of unmanned aerial vehicles and radio electronic warfare systems.
In November 2023, it was reported that the “Precision Complexes” holding, part of the state corporation “Rostec”, plans to integrate FPV drones into the armament complex of light armored vehicles.
