In a significant development for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race, a super PAC supporting former President Donald Trump’s White House run has raised an impressive $46 million in fundraising during the second half of last year. Make America Great Again Inc. (MAGA Inc.) also confirmed that they started the new year with more than $23 million in their coffers. This substantial increase in fundraising is a testament to Trump’s commanding position as the frontrunner in the GOP nomination race, making it his third straight White House run.
The former president’s victory in Iowa’s low-turnout Republican presidential caucuses and his subsequent triumph in New Hampshire’s GOP presidential primary have further solidified his position. Trump’s ability to maintain connections with top-dollar GOP donors is evident from the MAGA Inc. fundraising figures. While Trump is renowned for his grassroots contributions, these numbers suggest that he has also successfully tapped into substantial donations from major Republican contributors.
MAGA Inc., which has already spent $38.5 million running ads supporting Trump during this election cycle, is actively urging donors to contribute to the super PAC. This effort is in anticipation of the expected onslaught of expenditures by President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign and other Democratic groups. With Democrats already spending significant amounts of money earlier than ever before, MAGA Inc. aims to support Trump and his America First movement throughout the general election.
Taylor Budowich, CEO of MAGA Inc., emphasized the importance of early support, stating, “The general election has already started. President Trump has a clear path to win, but Democrats are spending more money and they are doing it earlier than ever before. MAGA Inc. is proud to be the organization entrusted to lead the outside effort to support President Trump and his America First movement into November.”
The success of MAGA Inc.’s fundraising efforts can be attributed, in part, to the support and expertise of its key figures. Budowich, formerly a top Trump adviser, joined the super PAC in 2022. Additionally, longtime Trump pollster and strategist Tony Fabrizio plays a crucial role in steering the organization, while Meredith O’Rourke serves as its fundraiser.
Notably, the largest donation during the second half of last year came from Timothy Mellon, heir to the Mellon banking fortune and a transportation executive, who contributed a staggering $10 million. Furthermore, more than a dozen donors have generously contributed $1 million or more to MAGA Inc. in the past six months.
As the 2024 campaign trail continues to unfold, these fundraising numbers highlight the significant support and momentum behind former President Trump’s bid for the White House.
