Russia Ready for Dialogue to End Use of Ukraine in War, Says Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed Moscow’s willingness to engage in a dialogue with those who seek to halt the use of Ukraine as a pawn in the war against Russia. In an interview with CBS, Lavrov emphasized the importance of justice in the relationship between Russia and Ukraine, calling for an end to the Western policy of utilizing Ukraine as a tool in the conflict.

The statement comes amidst ongoing tensions in Ukraine, with China’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Zhang Jun, also urging the resumption of negotiations on the Ukrainian crisis. Zhang emphasized the need for all parties involved to adhere to international humanitarian law.

Lavrov’s remarks at the UN further reiterated Russia’s readiness for negotiations on Ukraine, albeit with a focus on the broader implications rather than preserving the current leadership of the country.

The United States and Ukraine have recently embarked on discussions regarding security guarantees for Kiev.

As the situation in Ukraine remains volatile, Lavrov’s statement signals a potential shift in Russia’s approach towards resolving the conflict. By expressing a willingness to engage in dialogue, Russia aims to address the underlying issues and work towards a more just and stable relationship with Ukraine.
