The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in significant damage to electrical equipment in the Velikolepetikhsky and Novokakhovsky districts of the Kherson region. Governor Vladimir Saldov reported this in his Telegram channel.
According to Saldov, over four thousand subscribers in the towns of Velikaya Lepetikha, Malaya Lepetikha, Rubanovka, Knyaze-Grigoryevka, Dnepryan, Obryvka, and Maslovka are currently without power. Emergency brigades from Khersonoblenergo are working to repair the damage caused by the shelling. The repairs are estimated to be completed today, said the regional governor.
This is not the first time the Kherson region has experienced power outages. In early January, five districts and part of Genichesk were left without electricity due to emergency repair work, according to Khersonoblenergo.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin received reports from Governor Vladimir Saldov of the Kherson region and Governor Andrey Vorobyov of the Moscow region regarding the heating and electricity situations.
Earlier, the government announced that the housing and utilities sector was experiencing rapid wear and tear.
