Ukrainian Drones Attempted Attack on Russian Airfield, Three Shot Down

One of the three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) shot down over the Smolensk region was attempting to attack the Smolensk-Severny airfield, according to emergency services spokesperson cited by RIA Novosti.

“The UAV was trying to attack the Smolensk-Severny airfield but was shot down,” the agency’s source said.

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems had shot down three Ukrainian UAVs of aircraft type over the Smolensk region.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that an attempt to attack a drone on Russian territory was prevented on January 20. The unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by air defense systems over the Oryol region.

On January 20, a kamikaze drone of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the settlement of Novostroevka-Vtoraya, located in the Grayvoron city district of the Belgorod region.

The gas supply line was damaged, but there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

Earlier, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Russia has an advantage in the use of FPV drones.
