Russian Pacific Fleet ships, the missile cruiser “Varyag” and the frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov,” have recently embarked on a training mission after leaving Vladivostok. The ships conducted emergency combat and training preparations in the designated area, as reported in the TOF Telegram channel.
During the preparations, the ships were joined by Ka-27 helicopters of the TOF naval aviation in anti-submarine and search and rescue configurations. The helicopter crews successfully completed training flight tasks during a flight from the base airfield in Primorsky Krai.
The TOF press service stated that the fleet’s squadron is scheduled to perform a wide range of tasks, including operations in the Asia-Pacific region and visits to foreign ports for business purposes.
In a separate development, the Commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Victor Liin, announced the modernization of Project 949A “Antey” submarines with new missile complexes. This modernization aims to enhance the submarines’ capabilities and bring them closer to the next-generation “Yasen” submarines.
Furthermore, a squadron of large anti-submarine ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet recently arrived in the port of Manila in the Philippines, strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
In addition, the “Admiral Panteleev,” a large anti-submarine ship of the Russian Pacific Fleet, paid a friendly visit to Thailand in November, further promoting international cooperation.
These developments highlight Russia’s commitment to maintaining a strong naval presence in the Asia-Pacific region and its efforts to enhance the capabilities of its naval forces.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, the deep-sea apparatus AS-30 was delivered to Vladivostok, indicating Russia’s focus on expanding its underwater exploration capabilities.
