Ukrainian Soldiers Face Harsh Conditions in Battle Against Rodent Infestation

Ukrainian military personnel have reported trenches infested with mice and rats, according to a report by American news channel CNN, citing fighters from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).

The report highlights that these rodents, which have appeared in the conflict zone, serve as carriers of various diseases. According to journalists, some infections have caused soldiers to experience vomiting and bleeding from their eyes.

As a result, the combat readiness of the Ukrainian military has significantly decreased. The presence of rats and mice on the battlefield has created horrendous conditions reminiscent of the period during World War I.

“Imagine going to sleep and the night starts with a mouse crawling into your pants or sweater, or nibbling on your fingertips, or biting your hand,” noted a UAF fighter with the call sign “Kira.”

In turn, the article’s authors linked the rodent invasion to the changing seasons and the beginning of their mating period. Observers also emphasized that the appearance of mice and rats indicates a stagnation in the ongoing conflict. According to journalists, the intensity of the fighting has decreased following a failed Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that citizens do not have the right to be tired of the ongoing hostilities.
