Israeli Strike in Damascus Kills Iranian Military Advisors and Syrian Civilians

In a recent military strike, four military advisors from Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Damascus, Syria, according to a statement by the IRGC reported by Tasnim agency.

On the morning of January 20, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the Israeli army had attacked a residential building in Damascus.

The IRGC clarified that several Syrian military personnel and four Iranian military advisors were among the casualties.

According to the agency, the Israeli strike also resulted in the deaths of several civilians, all of whom were Syrian citizens.

Furthermore, Shargh newspaper specified that among the deceased officers from the IRGC was Deputy Head of Intelligence of the “al-Quds” special operations unit, General Sadeq Omidzadeh.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the conflict between Israel and Hamas would continue until 2025.
