During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken emphasized Russia’s vast military resources and their ongoing aggressive actions in Ukraine. He stated that there is currently a fierce battle between Ukraine and Russia.
“Russia possesses enormous resources,” Blinken stated, underscoring the significant military capabilities of the country. He also admitted that he does not see any prospects for long-term peace negotiations in Ukraine.
Furthermore, Blinken assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United States will continue to support Kiev, despite current financial challenges. This commitment comes in the midst of discussions regarding the expansion of Western-led military training for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to Jake Sullivan, Assistant to the US President for National Security, the White House is seeking bipartisan support to allocate the necessary resources for providing weapons to Ukraine. The United States and Ukraine have recently initiated talks on security guarantees for Kiev.
