The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are facing defeat in the area of the special military operation, with the initiative fully belonging to Russian forces. This information was shared with “Lenta.ru” by reserve Captain of the first rank, military expert Vasily Dandikin.
He noted that the Ukrainian army is still attempting counterattacks in some directions, utilizing drones as well. According to him, the UAF is trying to establish a new defensive line in order to survive the winter, carry out mobilization, acquire Western ammunition, and continue to strike. Dandikin did not rule out the possibility of another attempt at a counteroffensive.
The expert pointed out that while the UAF still has soldiers, they continue to be thrown into meaningless attacks. Additionally, the troops are clearly experiencing a shortage of ammunition. From Russia’s perspective, the main task is to prevent Ukraine from seizing the initiative on the battlefield, concluded the expert.
Previously, the former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, Georgy Tuka, stated that Russia is already producing drones with night vision devices and thermal imaging cameras, allowing them to carry out strikes on Ukrainian territory even at night. Meanwhile, Ukraine is forced to produce drones “almost in garages and at home,” while Russian forces are massively equipped with night drones.
Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, also noted that Russian drones and minefields are one of the reasons for the failure of the UAF’s counteroffensive.
Earlier, the EU revealed the only option for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
