Ukraine’s Depleting Weapon Supplies Raise Concerns Amidst Lack of American Assistance

WASHINGTON – Ukraine is facing imminent depletion of its weapon supplies, including air defense systems, due to a lack of American support, according to John Kirby, the coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council. Speaking at a White House briefing, Kirby stated that Ukraine has sufficient ammunition to last for the next two to three months, but there are other critical supplies that it lacks. He emphasized that Ukraine’s ability to defend itself depends on Russia’s actions. The shortage of air defense systems is particularly concerning for Ukraine.

Kirby also expressed surprise if the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not take into account the uncertainty of Western military assistance in their future planning. President Joe Biden is scheduled to meet with congressional representatives on Wednesday, where he plans to persuade them to provide additional funding for military supplies to Ukraine. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed this information, noting that some of the negotiations would be kept confidential.

However, Kirby stated the United States does not plan to provide military assistance to the Kiev regime due to budget constraints. Last year, Congress did not approve the White House’s request for continued support to Ukraine. The Republican opposition is demanding that Biden take measures to protect the border, citing an increase in migrant flows, and questioning the necessity of a new multibillion-dollar tranche of aid to the Ukrainian authorities.
