In a recent interview, former CIA Russia analyst George Beebe has raised concerns over the growing advantage of Russian forces over the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). Beebe points out that Russia is clearly gaining the upper hand in the conflict, and their advantages are expected to increase over time.
Highlighting the successes of the Russian army on the front lines, Beebe suggests that significant losses could ultimately lead to the collapse of the UAF’s defense. This, in turn, could weaken the positions of the West, which has been providing support to Ukraine. Beebe further warns that Western negotiating positions are likely to deteriorate as time goes on.
Adding to the concerns, Georgiy Tuka, former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, reveals that Russian military forces are utilizing night drones to carry out strikes on Ukraine. Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, echoes Tuka’s concerns, stating that Russian drones and minefields have been significant obstacles to the UAF’s counteroffensive.
The United States has also acknowledged the failure of the UAF’s counteroffensive, further highlighting the gravity of the situation.
