Russian Defense Forces Intercept Ukrainian Drones in Moscow and St. Petersburg

In a recent incident, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that their air defense systems successfully shot down one Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Moscow region, while another drone was intercepted near St. Petersburg. The ministry shared this information through their Telegram channel.

Emphasizing the details, the ministry stated that at approximately 1:30 am Moscow time, they thwarted an attempt by the Ukrainian side to carry out an attack using UAVs on Russian territory.

Prior to this, Sergey Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow, revealed that the city’s air defense forces had repelled an unmanned aerial vehicle attack in the Podolsk district, which was heading towards Moscow.

On December 22nd, Ukrainian military forces attempted to attack several regions of the Russian Federation using drones. The Ministry of Defense reported that two drones were destroyed over the Bryansk region.

On January 16th, explosions were heard in several neighborhoods of Voronezh. Ukrainian Armed Forces drones targeted this regional center of Russia.
