The Russian Emergencies Ministry (RSChS) has issued a warning to the residents of Belgorod about the rocket danger. They have urged people to stay at home if possible and not approach windows, according to the message.
According to reports from residents of Belgorod and the Belgorod region, loud explosions can be heard. Preliminary data suggests that air defense systems are in operation. Additionally, explosions were heard in the Shebekino area.
On January 16, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had shelled the region 60 times in one day. He mentioned that Ukrainian forces used kamikaze drones and unmanned aerial vehicles. Five border districts and Belgorod itself were targeted, added the governor.
